People are unhappy about stuff and they want somebody to fix it. But people don’t know about stuff, about how stuff really happens and whether it can be fixed or not. So they don’t know when people and the media lie to them. And then everyone votes for the person whose lies say what they want to hear. Accordingly, I have decided to explain stuff. Why me? Because I never believe anything I am told unless and until I research it and think it through all by myself. And who am I? A writer. A teacher. An attorney. A futurist. A ponderer. Someone who loves a mystery but always reads the last chapter first. And, If you like Star Trek, statistics say I likely wrote one of your all-time favorite episodes. So I will be telling you what I am personally certain is the truth, even as I beg you not to believe it until you look it up and decide for yourself if I am right. Triggered by current intolerable crazy-making events, I shall post here with my researched knowledge, simple analyses, insights, new questions for us all, and recollected cultural moments that we’ve all shared. What makes me crazy is that people voted for whoever they thought would end inflation. In 1975 the home I grew up in was valued at $60,000. Today the same home on the same quarter-acre property is worth 1.5 million dollars. The continuous increase in home values is not "inflation". It is not wrong. The way most people grow wealth is not by savings accounts paying three or four percent per year. It is not by investing in stock, which requires money and lots of work and even more luck or insider knowledge.
